Australian Passports Amendment Determination (No.4)

 

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

 

 

The Determination inserts a new fee schedule (Schedule 4) into the Australian Passports Determination 2005The Determination commences on the day after registration.

 

In May 2007, the Federal Government announced that travel document fees would be subject to an annual movement in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

 

Section 57 of the Australian Passports Act 2005 gives the Minister for Foreign Affairs the authority to make determinations regarding travel document fees.

 

The Determination is a legislative instrument for the purposes of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003.
