This management plan ceased to have any legal effect on 14 December 2013 when the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (Commonwealth Marine Reserves) Proclamation 2013 took effect and revoked the reserves this plan related to and declared new reserves for these areas. The notice was not resolved and lapsed when the Parliament was prorogued. Under subsection 42(3) of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003, the instrument is deemed to be tabled in the House that moved the motion on the first sitting day of the new Parliament.
